2nd DIVERSIFOOD Annual MeetingNCamplus Living Bononia Via Sante Vincenzi, 49 – 40138 BolognaNThe second DIVERSIFOOD annual meeting was held in Bologna, Italy, to sum up the results of the first two years of the project.NIn this three-days meeting, all the main activities carried out since April 2015 were presented, and several thematic workshops were organized to promote discussion among partners. The annual meeting also included a field visit to the Azienda agrituristica “Podere Santa Croce” in Argelato (Bologna), a biodynamic farm since 2000. Here DIVERSIFOOD partners experienced the richness (and the incredible taste!) of the wheat mixture “virgo”, cultivated in collaboration with the University of Bologna. The local partner, University of Bologna, provided its precious support to INRA Transfert and INRA to organize the event.NParticipants also planned the upcoming events and activities to enhance the project networks: “We need opportunities to bridge the farmers and breeders’ communities” – said Véronique Chable, DIVERSIFOOD coordinator – to identify the initiatives that can ensure the management of agricultural biodiversity and the creation of new local varieties though participatory plant breeding.Ninfo@semirurali.net
